FOO'S FOAM IS CREATED AT THE 'FOO FACTORY' 2020
OCTOBER 2020
At last....we are back in our home by the sea, actually we came back on 4th September leaving the UK, Katie and Harry & Ruby, with a heavy heart but knowing it was the right time to finally come home to sunny Spain. The children had gone back to school and Katie had resumed her work as a nail tech working from her lovely nail salon that we had worked together to fix up on the side of her house, enabling clients to feel safe as she had deep cleaned and sanitised the whole area. It had been 9months since we left Spain visiting first to Rob & Sky last Xmas then returning to the UK in February. So much had happened to change all of our lives and still we are not sure when we can all return to normal, but life must go on and we must all look forward to better times ahead.
Arriving back in Spain with trepidation we weren't sure how it would be, but we were pleasantly surprised, the sunshine helped and we had some dear friends living on our community who we were thrilled to be able to spend time with. Some of other friends had decided too that they would return her to their holiday homes for a break as the weather in the UK was starting to turn into an early winter, so we have been spending time eating out ad enjoying some of the things we haven't been able to do in the UK.
Masks are mandatory here everywhere, and everyone adheres to the rule (unfortunately not like the UK!) So now we will stay until hopefully returning to see the family at Xmas.
During the time we spent living with Katie and the children, especially while working with the charity, I was constantly aware how poor Harry, who suffers from OCD and a fear of germs, would regularly smear hand gel with alcohol on his hands, causing chapped and bleeding sores from constant use. Having discovered a foaming alcohol free hand sanitiser from a friend at the beginning of lockdown I decided that I wanted to develop one myself and brand it with a very special character to help children with a similar problem, and to create something that the whole family could use without harming the skin, and also that was as effective as sanitisers with alcohol.
So FOO was reborn!! Who is FOO you may well ask?....Well FOO was drawn for me on napkin, and pieces of scrap paper as a child by my dad. It was a character that was very special to me, neither a dinosaur, nor a worm, what is FOO?
No-body knew or even knows now, but I continued to draw it for my children, and then again for my grandchildren, and throughout the years everyone in the family knew about FOO!
So I set about researching and finally finding a company I could join forces with, who manufactured an alcohol free sanitiser that I could brand with FOO...after all FOO looks out for you! I wanted to make available a product that children would enjoy using so they would ensure their hands were being kept sanitised at all times, especially at school and while they were collecting germs on the skin that they could bring home.
I knew how reticent many of them would be to keep using the harsh products that were being sold and distributed and after seeing how Harry's skin improved from using the alcohol free foam I was determined to produce it and sell it, which is exactly what I am doing now!!
I created a fabulous website www.myfriendfoo.co.uk with the help of my friend Natalie who sketched the Foo characters for me and am about to launch the products, along with the FOO toy as I am writing this! So I will delay publishing this blog as I know I will have lots of exciting things to talk about as everyone discovers FOO in the coming months.....watch this space readers I will be back!!
